4th House Quidditch: HUFFLEPUFF vs. RAVENCLAW: 23rd - 27th September

(RAVENCLAW BEATER)

All of a sudden, there was an explosion of players - Polly, Matt, Skie, Rose, Ella and Etta had appeared! Elana grinned; now there was a game to play!

The bell dinged, signaling a successful goal for Ravenclaw. Beaming with pride, Elana called, "Great shot, Kim!" Laughing at Matt's exclamation, she said, "Language, Matthew! We bathe as much as you, and certainly aren't fiends!" The Ravenclaw Chaser, noting the absence of a Keeper, graciously threw the ball back into play. Matt caught the Quaffle and began racing towards the Ravenclaw goals as Elana took off after a Bludger. She couldn't just let him score the easy way! There was a Bludger zipping around at the base of the Raven goals, and so she tilted her broom downwards at a steep angle to catch it. As she neared it, she raised her bat and gave a swing, whacking it upwards. She followed it up, aiming to come back at playing level in time to stop Matt from shooting. However, it had taken longer to get the Bludger than she'd realized, as Matt had already thrown the Quaffle.

Scowling, Elana kept after the Bludger. She wouldn't use it now, but after the score was updated or, hopefully, not, she'd decide what to do with it. And so she zoomed off after it, keeping ears open for the ding.

(Hufflepuff Beater and Captain)

Rose frowned as she heard the ringing 'ding' stating that the Quaffle had gone in. And the points didn't go to Hufflepuff. She flipped over on her broom, scanning for the demonic little bludgers. She spotted one, but for some reason wasn't in the mood too knock it towards anyone. Letting out her breath slowly and wiping the sweat off her face, Rose took a quick lap around the pitch, sending small yellow sparks out of the end of her wand. They spiraled into the air like fireworks, crackling and sizziling. Standing up on her broom, while it was still zooming by the crowd with increadible speed, the Huffie Captain put her wand to her throat and muttered a spell. The next second her voice was trippled as she yelled over the cheering.

"GO HUFFIES, DO YOUR STUFF!
WE CAN SHAKE THEM, WE ARE TOUGH!
SCREAM REAL LOUD
ROCK THE CROWD!
SHAKE IT, MAKE IT, BAGERS FOR THE CUP!"

Rose smiled at the waves of yellow and black in the stands. Sitting back down on her broom, she cleared her mind and tried to get serious about the match. Soooo, Ravenclaw was ahead 10 to 0. No biggy. There Keeper still hadn't shown. Great. And now Kate was her. Even greater. And.....

"ETTA!" Rose saw her favorite Head of House flying up, and flew over beside her. "OhmygoshI'msogladtoseeyouI'mhappyyoushowedthisissogreatwearesogoingtowinis

cuzlikeI'msohypedandIknow-" Rose stopped and blinked, noticing Etta shiver, yet sweat was flowing down her face like a waterfall. "Um, Ettie? Are you ok? You look like some serious crap! Should I get Madam P?" Rose's expression was now concerned. She didn't want her 'overlord' to play if she was sick.

"Hey MATTHEW!!! Watch your langwage on the pitch! There's first years here!" She called angrily to the Huffie. When Rose turned back to Etta, the beater had already sought out a ball and sent it soaring over to Polly. She frowned. "Etta, please don't push yourself..."

Rigby Dumbledore

{Ravenclaw Keeper}

Rigby tripped over her own feet in her haste to get out to the pitch. She managed to break her fall, but already she was off to a clumsy start.

Great, just great.

The hot air hit her hard, she was fed up with sunshine! What she wouldn't do for a nice cloudy, overcast day to match her mood. Looking up she saw a blur of activity. Everyone in the world seemed to be playing quidditch on her pitch today. Her bad mood increased as she flew to her goal posts. It was only her second game as keeper and she was already tardy. At least her teammates had stepped up, but it looked like Hufflepuff was out in force as well.

The warm air soon had both her hair and her uniform plastered to her skin. Rigby was soggy and in a bad mood, she just hoped she would make to the end of the game without being ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Today was not the day to tangle with the newly anointed Ravenclaw keeper.

Etta

(Hufflepuff Beater)

Etta frowned at Rose and i pointed to Elana and Polly of Ravenclaw.

"Hows useless cans sthey be? She ignores the sbludger abouts tos hits hers, ands shes snot botherings tos protec sher team mate," croaked Etta mid sniffles. Etta coughed and held a hand to her throbbing her. "Sno-ones comings."

Feeling increaisngly annoyed at the ignorance of the opposing team, Etta looked at her bat and it's forever staying stain of blood, Kate's blood. Feeling worse than ever, Etta hugged Rose and pointed at Kate, winked at her team and flew over to the Ravenclaw Keeper, she had nothing better to do whilst both Bludgers were in play.

"Skate," cried Etta with a sniffle as she flung herself into Kate's unexpecting arms. "I'ms sorrys your teams sblind."

Etta felt her nose twitch and grinned inwardly. Pulling her head away from Kate's arm, Etta looked at her friend. She held up her Beater's Bat with a weak smile.

"Looks sits still gots yours bloods," she croaked pointing to the blood that had dried into a crack of the bat. Etta sneezed and cough repeatedly without covering her nose and mouth. She looked at Kate angelicly. "Is gots thes flues hopes yous hads yours flu shots."

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Kim scowled at Matt. SHe was trying to be sportslike, and here he was taking advantage of it. HE could have waited for her to get back in playing position....stupid little badger, she thought.

Kim raced up to Matt, but she was too late. He had already thrown the ball by the time she had caught up. SHe winced, looking at the ball which was spinning right towards the hoops. "way to have good sportsmanship, Mattie," she said sarcastically.

Kim hoped that the team wouuld hurry up and get on the pitch. Where was the team. There's no 'we' in team, but there should be...geez.

Polly cursed herself for not being fast enough with the quaffle watching as it zoomed towards the goal in a sure hit she sighed exasperated.

Lowering her body down into a more aerodynamic position Polly flew across the pitch stopping to hover about 3/4 of the way waiting for the ball to come back in play.

Kim sat tensed up on her broom. SHe looked over at Polly and saw the dissapointment on her face, too. Kim glared at Matt, then the quaffle. As if, like that's gonna help, she thought.

Kim wondered if maybe a Bludger would pass by and knock the QUaffle off course. That'd be sick! thought Kim, but unlikely, probably.

(Hufflepuff Beater and Captain)

Rose's heart dropped as she saw how much Etta was hurting inside. She wanted to tell her friend to go back to the Hospital Wing, get better, just wait until the next match. But she knew how much this meant to Etta, and how upset she herself would be if she was in the Head of House's position, so she just bit her lip and kept silent. Etta flew over to Kate, Rose wanted to fallow, but then had a second thought and decided to act Captainly for a moment.

Rose flew over to Skie, Huffies Seeker and Co-Captain. “Skie luffy! Just in case you didn't know, the Ravvie's Seeker is on the pitch, so it's time to kick things up a notch. No pressure. Oh, and make sure you give Etta lotsa love.”

Rose glanced over to see two Ravenclaw Chaser's ganging up in her badger. “Oh no you don't!” She flew over to the loose bludger, angry now, and with a loud 'bam' sent the demonic little ball flying towards Kim's left arm. “Don't touch the Quaffle.”

(Ravenclaw chaser)

"Watch out Kim!" Polly cried speeding across the pitch in a nose dive position. Upon reaching near the bludger it was a race between her and the bludger as she edged ever near Polly pulled her hands back double wrapped her legs around the broom and prepaired to perform the bludger bash.

Diving low Polly hit the bludger with the tip of her broom in an attempt to send it of course. Feeling the vibrations all across her broom Polly wobbled slightly loosing her grip on the broom she turned to watch Kim.

Would the bludger bash have worked or would Polly have knocked it into a more dead on aim? Only time would tell.

DING!!!

The ball went through the hoop, 10 all now, what a score. He was destined for this position. He looked around the pitch again, he was still a little dizzy from his spinning session, but he would gather himself up before the ball came back into play again.

Ravies didn't deserve the qudditch cup this year, it wouldn't be fair as they won the house cup last...

He smiled his evil grin as Rose sent the bludger straight towards Kimmy, she would be badly hurt, but who cares?

(Ravenclaw Chaser)

Kim heard Polly's warning, and saw her attempt to prevent the ball from hitting her- it was pointless. The ball spun a little bit but it straightened up and hit her left wrist. SHe heard the inmistakable crack and looked down to see blood and bone. Kim shuddered at the uglyness of it. There was no doubt that she broke it, and she had to finish the game still. Kim rolled her eyes and groaned in pain. SHe wrapped up her hand in her now stained robes.

Kim looked over to Rose, the Beater as if to say "happy now?". She would have to go to the hospital wing for this. SHe looked over to Polly. She was trying to help her. She wasn't mad at Polly, but she was in pain. Kim wondered where the Quaffle was when she heard the ding that meant it had just gone through the hoops.

Kim groaned. SHe could have tried to stop it, but she...she looked down at her arm. No she couldn't have stopped it. Her arm was useless. It'd be in a cast for at least 3 months...what a pain...literally.

Kim knew that she could last through the last bit of the match. SHe might be of less use, and in a lot more pain, but she could do it.

Vulcan/Blackjack

(Hufflepuff Seeker and Co Captain)

Skie was lost deep deep deep deep deep in her own mind, circling the maze and examining the little cracks and flaws with a practically toddler like fascination. Whoa... in her head, Skie was standing in a dome of darkness, surrounded by thousands of memories that she had but to ask for to gain access to them. Hey... what about that time... Skie pulled up a memory with the flick of her wrist. It was that once upon a time when she had first ridden on a broomstick. Thinking back to it, Skie suddenly watched the magic unfold and apex into... well, the first time she got up into the air, she flew up 20 meters and threw up on her brother. Laughing to herself inside her head, Skie was suddenly hit by a realization. She was playing a quidditch game. "WAH! AH!" Smacking herself HARD in the forehead, Skie merged from her inner conversation with a head groggy from to much self involvement. "Jeez!" Rubbing her eyes, Skie then bit her lip. The game was spinning around her like an out of control carousel, and Skie still hadn't even caught a glimpse of the snitch. "Darn all periods of inanimateness." Skie said with a nasty frown.

(Hufflepuff Beater and Captain)

Rose kept her eyes on the bludger as danced towards Kim. Polly had tried to stop it, or send it in another direction, at least, but it was pointless. Only moments later, the demonic ball slammed into the Ravvie and crushed her hand like a peanut. Rose drew back and gasped. “Oh my gooderness, I didn't actually think it would hit her!” Feeling a bit guilty, the Huffie yelled over to Kim, “Um, I'm sorry! I mean, yay me, poor you.....ah......no hard feelings? It is a bloody sport, right?”

Blushing, she turned her attention to Skie, who finally seemed to be trying to find the shiny Snitch. And the Ravenclaw Seeker didn't seem to have seen it yet ether, which was good. Then the 'ding' came and Rose WHOOPED as she saw that the score was now 10-10. “GOOOOO MATTHEW!!!”

The wooooshing sound of a bludger came rushing at Rose from her left, and in a blind panic, she swung around and hit it hard. But her expression suddenly changed to horror as she saw it was heading towards Etta! She didn't mean for that to happen! Calling, screaming, Rose flew as fast as she could towards her fellow Beater. “ETTA BLUDGER DUCK!!!!!”

Kim looked over at Rose who was trying to be nice. She rolled her eyes and lifted her arm, "Really? Have you seen the ugly thing?!" After a moment Kim rolled her eyes again and said,"Yeah i guess. No hard feelings."

Kim saw Rose hit the Bludger towards her own team member! How horrid, she thought.

Etta

(Hufflepuff Beater)

Etta stared wide eyed at the bludger coming straight towards her, she let out a silent scream and gulped.

great now i've lost my voice, she thought watching her life flash before her ill eyes.

Suddenly Etta shook herself and looked down at the bat in her hand.

Your a bloomin Beater woman with a titanium coated bat, get a grip and hit!she shouted at herself.

Realising she didn't have enough time to ready an attack on the bludger, Etta knew she had to survive it first. Doing the Bludger Stand, she lifted her aching limbs up into a handstand, her eyes on the Bludger at all times, when it came close enough, she pushed off with all her remaining strength and let go of her broom, 'jumping' in the air slightly so the bludger could pass under her.

Dropping back down on to her broom, Etta turned herself around and narrowed her eyes. Kicking herself off, Etta flew after the bludger and waited to get closer.

Once close enough she performed the Rotating Power Beat once more, turning herself three times like a discus player, Etta swung hard into the Bludger and sent it pinging straight at Kim, and for added messeaure she let go of her bat wondering if Polly had a shield for this as well, as it was now winging its way directly at the back of Polly's skull.
