I feel that many of the traits listed in this description of Eihwaz relate to me. Take reliability, for example. I try to always be there for my loved ones, and therefore am reliable, and would also do all in my power to protect[ion] them. I can also be quite stubborn, which could be taken as endurance. I also provide motivation to friends by encouraging them to do their best and also challenging them. Many, if not challenged, would let themselves just stay where they are in life forever. I am usually honest as well. There are also ones that don't quite fit with me, such as the driving force to acquire. Sure, material goods are nice, but I don't have the said "driving need" for things.

Ansuz The rune that I chose for myself is “Ansuz”, which represents Odin, who is the ancestral god that also found the power of the runes. The first thing mentioned about this rune is the revealing message or insight, and communication. When I’m struck with an idea, specifically about other people, it reveals a lot to me about either another person or myself. I then communicate that revealing message to them to help them understand. The next sentence is also associated with me because I enjoy writing, and while often start after an enthusiastic inspiration to write down my new ideas. As for taking advice and blessings, I believe that I am a blessed person. While I may not always be so great at taking advice, I am very good at giving it. As for the reversed and merkstave personality traits, I do misunderstand people and jump to delusional conclusion. And I tend to be easily manipulated by others. When one of my friends tells me one thing, I’ll generally go with what they say. Oh, and as for boredom? I get bored. A lot. Very easily. It’s not good, people. I’m not a particularly vain person, but I do enjoy occasionally gazing into the mirror.

The character I chose was Harry Potter (of course xD). And the rune I chose for him was Raidho.

Raidho Harry is very well associated with Raidho because he did travel quite a bit. In a physical sense, he traveled all around much of Britain in his search for the Horcruxes. In a lifestyle direction sense, he’s made many choices that have changed his life. The decision to go after the Sorcerer’s Stone, the decision to save Ginny Weasley from the basilisk, the decision to save Peter Pettigrew from death but give him to the Dementors, the decision to grab the Triwizard Cup with Cedric, and the decision to trust Dumbledore to name a few. Probably one of his most important decisions was to ~~marry Ginny Weasley~~ give himself up to Voldemort and accept death so that others may survive. His life had been an evolving journey up until the point where he faced Voldemort in the final battle. He saw the larger perspective when he sacrificed himself, he chose the right move and decided upon it. His not-backing down is what saved all of the people at Hogwarts, perhaps even in the world. On the other hand, Harry’s has been a life of tragedy. The deaths of those close to him, the way the Ministry treated him in their narrow-minded refusal to believe Voldemort’s return. But Harry isn’t exactly an angel. He’s had irrational moments to-like firmly believing Snape was bad. The last part of the rune description is also like Harry because he’s been involved in all of those things-disruption of a class, being forcibly moved from one place to another (his destroyed house to the Dursleys) being demoted in the eyes of the public (such as by the Ministry) the delusion of people shipping him with Hermione…and as always, the deaths he has had to deal with.

I chose was my roleplaying character Rachel Everett. She is 16 years old, and likes writing, learning defense, taking care of people, and giving advice. Her strengths are that she is very supportive and considerate of those she loves, she is also very intuitive-almost like she reads minds. Rachel is good at taking care of others and can show up a great front that she is fine even when she may not be. She is sensitive to the feelings of others and has a tenacity that is a force to be reckoned with. She can be defensive and moody if you catch her in a bad mood, and sometimes is selfish or self-indulgent if she is in said bad mood. She can be overemotional when she really loses it, and clingsto things she doesnt want to let go. There are a negative/withdrawn moments where no one can reach her

For Rachel Everett, I chose Eihwaz

Eihwaz: It was definitely a bit of a difficulty to find a rune that accurately described my Rachel, but I was fairly satisfied with Eihwaz. Rachel has a strength to her, despite her overemotional tendencies. She survived being moved around a lot after the deaths of her parents. While she is sometimes afraid of getting close to others, those she is close to will find her reliability, dependibility, and trustworthiness to be above reproach. If you need her, you’ve got her. She has endured much in her life, and does suffer bad moments from it, but she still pulls through. Rachel threw herself into learning ho w to defend and protect herself (defense and protection). The driving force behind this was her to desire to ensure no one ever hurt her, and it motivated her enough to achieve what she wanted. It gave her, for a while, a sense of purpose. She wanted to become a great dueler, and then did. She set her sights on a reasonable target and achieved that goal. Reversed, Eihwaz also plays a part with Rachel. She is oftentimes confused about what she is supposed to do with her life, which was thoroughly destroyed by her family’s enemies. She is sometimes dissatisfied with her situation and wants to change it, but oftentimes doesn’t know how. Her weaknesses stop her from opening up to others, and clinging to those who she already has opened up to.

My personality is somewhat like this. Many people do rely on me and trust me. If they have a problem they will come to me to hear my advice. They also trust that whatever they say to me I will not tell others it. I do not pride myself on knowing everything so if someone tells me something I will not go around and tell others what I had found out. I will keep their secretes and try to help them with their problems. Many people come to me for advice and they always so that I have good advice and they are always coming to me to hear my opinion about something.

Harry Potter has had a lot of luck. In every book he has gotten though some horrible times that should of resulted in his death with nothing more than a few scratches. In the first book Voldemort could have killed him when he was only a baby, in the second one he escaped a basilisk, and in the other books he had escaped from things much worse than that. Harry also has a lot of money. His parents left him a vault filled with money and throughout the book he made sure not to use it all at once. Harry also has the ability to destroy stuff. While he was off fighting he had ended up destroyed many things weather it be a creature or some object that was nearby.

I'm pretty much like this. I do have a good speech and the power of words. I have very good communication skills as well. Other people always look for me when they need to talk in public or something because I've done it many times and I'm good at helping them with that. I always have a very positive attitude towards things, you know, enthusiasm. As for the bad stuff, most of the time what I say or do is misunderstood. And I misunderstand most stuff, but it's probably cause I have problems trusting people. I get bored very easily, so I guess that could qualify for the boredom part. Manipulated by others totally goes with me, even if I hater to admit it. But sometimes I believe what people tell me, you know like rumors and then I tend to say or do things I regret.

I choose this for Cedric Diggory. Tome, he did have a lot of physical strength and speed proven to us in the Triwizard Tournament. And in the books, we could read how good he was at Quidditch so he did have that ability. He had tons of energy as well, from what I read in the books and saw in the movie. In the movie he was understanding, when Harry told him about the challenges, he told him about others and refused to wear the badges Malfoy had created. He has wisdom, for it was mentioned both in the books and the movies, pretty good magical ability. According to descriptions, he was very handsome, and so was Rob Pattinson in the movie so he could very much qualify for sexual desire.

I chose Dagaz for Daniella for a few reasons. It talks about transformation, a thing Daniella went through when she moved with her family to live to another country. She decided to be a whole new person, and changed for the better. This transformation brought her Hope/Hapiness that she was ok in a new country. That she could make new friendships and adjust to a whole new lifestyle. It also made her feel better and not so depressed. She felt Security & Certainty when she walked in her new school for the first time, which was Hogwarts. She sisn't feel so scared anymore. And since then there has been Growth & Release for Daniella. She is now a better person, she learned new things and released the oldones. She definitely grew as a person.

Most specifically, the defense and protection traits stick out for me. If I care about someone, I am going to defend them if I feel they are being wronged in any way. Sometimes I go a bit overboard, though. There have been situations in which I jumped to someone's defense even though they didn't want it. Aside from that, I am also pretty reliable and quite trustworthy. I do not like being dishonest.

2. Severus Snape

Severus Snape is the embodiment of mystery. No other character within the Harry Potter series created such heated debate with equal evidence on all sides. Was he good, bad, neither, or both? Even when we learned of his story, he still remained a mystery. I think it's safe to say that no one will ever be able to completely understand him.

Rista is the character I use for role-playing. The main traits that stood out to me for her were social success, which is something I see in her future as she is very kind-hearted and wants to befriend everyone around her, and relation to creation and fertility as she just learned that she is going to have a new younger sibling.

1) For Myself:

I chose Isa not for its opposition properties as I see most have done for their selected ruins, but for the normal properties. I am in a time where my mind and soul feel as if they have hit a standstill, not sure what to do or where to go. I sit here waiting for the path ahead to clear up so I don’t have to walk around aimlessly through my life. Also, like how the rune reinforces runes around it, I try to help support and strengthen those around me. If I find a chance to help out or give advice I take it, feeling I have cleared up another inch of my path to purpose.

As for the reversed meaning, lately I have had a dullness quality to me. Without purpose I have let myself sit around without doing anything. I have no goals or I don’t even have an idea what is fun anymore on the outside world. As for the other opposite meanings, they revolve around me, not as a part of me. Around me I have “friends” who have been deceitful, egotistical, treacherous, and even back-stabbing.

I chose the Ansuz Merkstave, or reversed, runic meaning. Draco Malfoy was a misguided soul since youth and was easily manipulated by the Dark Lord. Also he had a misunderstanding, or delusion, of right and wrong due to his father’s teachings. If it was not for the Dark Lord or the pressure to fit in with Pureblood Society, Draco may have been a kinder soul. After all he did care about his family and didn’t really want to kill Dumbledore. Also, Draco was vain and pompous due to the way he was raised by his parents into believing being a pureblood was like being royalty. As for the normal meanings, the taking of advice fits. Unfortunately, he took bad advice.

This particular post does not completely link back to me, but it is the most accurate of all of them. By

the words vision, creativity, and inspiration, I live. I'm always full of ideas (vision) about my life and

the direction it is heading. I'm an artist of many types (creativity). I draw, paint, write, and compose

music. Sometimes I see the effort others put into their works, and how beautifully they come out.

Name: Klarat
Age: 267 DY (not from Earth..O.o)
Interests: She enjoys meditating and seeing. As the queen of her land, she is often confronted

with difficult situations, and likes to be the one to come up with the solution.
Strengths: Though she both meditates and sees, she is not very good at either. She is strong

when it comes to protecting her turf. Klarat has the ability to manipulate ice, control the weather

around her. She also has a bit of physical strength, enough to make sure no-one in her court gets

too out of hand. Sometimes she asks for understanding from her court.
Weaknesses: She has no real mental strenght. When she is reminded of her past, she is

unable to suppress the grief that comes with those thoughts. Instead of seeking help, she waits for

the pain to subside, only to re-emerge later on.
Other: Klarat was not born into the throneship like traditional queens. Instead, she fought her

way from the bottom of the social class to the top by proving her abilities to those around her, and

presenting challenges to the officials. They had no choice; either let her run wild or give her the

throne.

I found it hard to decide for just one rune, since different runes seem to relate to various aspects of my quite complex personality. But I chose Laguz, the rune of water, as it seems to have most relations to me.

Laguz:

First off, my favourite element is the water, so it fits for its literal meaning. The concept of flowing has a deeper meaning to me in various aspects, for example I imagine my life as winding forward in the way a flow does. Several things essential to [my] life, including tears and blood, also have the characteristic nature of being flowing. Fertility so far isn't a meaningful thing for me, as I simply see myself to young to think about reproduction, but I do think that I'm coming from rather fertile families on both sides, seeing as my mother has four brothers and my father has three sisters, plus I'll probably be prone to giving birth to twins.

Renewal as a healing power seems to describe the way I go about conflicts, since whenever something feels just too hurtful or too complicated to me, be it a friendship or my current school problem, I tend to seek the new things and leave old ones behind instead of trying to work those out. Life energy is something I generally possess a good deal of, only sometimes it vanishes. Imagination is another thing I've got [more than] enough of, I'm a real daydreamer and when I know I will, or even only could, encounter a certain situation I generally imagine really weird things which could happen [though aren't realistic, and I mainly know that]. Psychic matters do not, however, really affect or influence me, but they do fascinate me and I like thinking about possible supernatural things and happenings.

In combination with my imagination, dreams as well as fantasies play a huge role in my life. Not only do I have certain dreams of my future, I am also a very intense, terribly imaginative and vivid dreamer when I'm asleep. There is hardly a night when I don't remember at least one dream at the moment of awakening! Furthermore, mysteries are quite a part of me since there's probably nobody that knows everything about me - I'm not even sure whether I do, actually. But let's say there isn't one person that knows all the things I know about myself. That is also the way the unknown relates to me, as well as the hidden since this missing knowledge of parts of my personality is due to me not wanting others to know.

Deep is a very fitting adjective to describe myself, too, since I tend to think about lots of things were others simply don't know why they should be thinking about them. My character also is complex and deep, which makes it hard to predict me and my actions or to really know me. The underworld, on the other hand, only links to me in a more metaphorical sense as the part of me that I keep hidden under a facade of other traits. The last normal meaning of Laguz is a success in travel or acquisition with the possibility of loss. For me, the success may lie ahead in the aspect of travelling, but only figuratively speaking, as I am unsure at the moment of how to continue my life in regard to school/work things, and whatever way I choose: there might always be success, but I'm almost bound to lose something that's linked to the options I didn't choose.

Laguz Reversed or Merkstave:

As I indicated before, there is definitely a period of confusion in my life recently. I am absolutely unsure of whether to continue with school, search for a job, change schools...many options and I've got no idea at all about what to do. And therefore, the chance that I might come to an absolutely wrong decision, when looking back at it later in my life, is given. Poor judgements are also highly likely since I know that not all of my points why I should choose this or that option are exactly reasonable, yet I will always take them into account. In context of school matters, I also definitely feel as if I'm in a rut and that is why I want to get out of there and into work life quickly.

Connected to all of this is definitely a feeling of fear, for fear is part of what is driving me away from school, but also the fear of choosing wrongly. Thanks to that, there's a lot of circular motion in the way I regard my life when trying to come up with a way to solve things. To get away from all of it, I went for avoiding the whole matter, but I know that this isn't really helping in any way, seeing as I will have to have come to a decision in little more than a month. With all of this, I'm feeling a lack of creativity in coming up with a way to go on living after this summer.

Apart from it, the last row of words is definitely fitting me altogether: Madness, obsession, despair, perversity, sickness, suicide. I'm prone to being obsessed by things, people, plans...and quickly. Those obsessions generally vanish as suddenly as they have come up, yet while they last I will easily behave like a total idiot. Despair always is a huge part of me, I'm fast despaired and hard to get out of it, and conflicts and the like really get to me. Due to this, I also have my very own experiences with the topic of suicide and am still going through minor problems in this area every now and then. Madness is what all these matters make me think is the real problem, I sometimes am actually pondering whether or not I'm really mad [plus I tend to get mad at people for nothing, conjuring up problems out of thin air literally]. As for perversity, I'm really not the person I think is naturally meant to be on Earth, so I'm perverse in my opinion. Sickness - in the sense of physical sickness, I am often feeling sick or believe that I have serious illnesses when I read their symptoms and consider them fitting for me. Psychical sickness, of course, is a totally different topic but seems to be the same concerning my personality.

Hermione is a truely strong girl. Standing up for herself and her believes, being herself despite others making fun of it, going through all complications with Ron in their seemingly endless quarrels, accompanying Harry on his quest to defeat Voldemort - all those things show that she definitely isn't lacking any strength. She has been through a lot by herself as well as with her two best friends and has never once backed down.

This is partially showing her reliability and dependability as well, which has also been proven continuously by her helping her friends out. When they had a problem with their schoolwork, she indeed never let them copy hers, yet she helped them if they tried on their own. She also gave her best to guide Neville through Potions classes. Furthermore, she was there with Harry on his missions all the time, researching lots of things and providing both information and equipment without which he would often have failed in his spontaneous, thoughtless departures.

She was also always there for Harry and/or Ron when they had argued about something and refused to give in to the other, she was talking to them and helping them reunite. During all this, they could confide in her and she never once let their trust down. In those times of stress for all three of them, Hermione showed her endurance, yet she isn't enduring things eternally as we could see for example when she started being seriously annoyed with Ron and no longer put up with his behaviour.

Her sense of defending and protecting is, for one, shown in the fact that like Ron she goes through everything with Harry during their seven years of school. She does her best to protect herself and her friends, in the way she knows how to do it: researching, preparing, analysing, planning, learning things that might be helpful. For her last year of 'school', when she knows things are getting seriously dangerous for Muggles, she furthermore modifies the memories of her parents and sends them away so they won't get in the way of the dark Lord and be harmed.

Hermione additionally is prone to helping those she thinks are oppressed, for example the house elves by creating SPEW. Once she has found a goal, in this case setting free elves and bettering their lives, she works very hard for this goal and does whatever she can to reach the targets she set for herself. The same happened when she bought the rejected cat-kneazle Crookshanks, when she gave her best to write a defense for Buckbeak, and when later in her life she worked to change the laws benefitting purebloods. On the other hand, she worked on her magical carrier in the same motivated, determined way. She was obviously the only one to have prepared herself before the first year of school, she always did her homework throughout her whole time at school, received ten Outstandings and one Exceeds Expectations in her OWLs, and of the Golden Trio she seems to have been the only one who actually went back to school for her seventh year of education and took her NEWTs. This girl can definitely achieve whatevever goals she wants to, even if some people consider them not reasonable at all!

And while the conclusion of an honest, reliable person is perfectly fitting Hermione, the meanings of Eihwaz Reversed or Merkstave only barely link to her. Like every human, she does of course have weaknesses, times of confusion, things she is dissatisfied with and moments where she unconciously destroys something. However, whenever one of these things take place, she does her best to change the situation and get over the problem by using the good qualities she owns plenty.

3. Roxana Aurora Maram

For this part, I chose Roxana Aurora Maram, a 22-year-old who has been through quite a lot in her life. Blindness and hopelessness, the Merkstave meanings of the Dagaz rune, have crept into her life from an early age. Due to her father's job, she has been moving around a lot and has never found herself fitting in or belonging anywhere. Unable to take the pain when she had finally found some nice people and was then forced to move again, over and over, she built a wall of unpleasant behaviour and loneliness to shut herself away from the world. Her characteristics soon were sarcastic remarks and an unfriendly attitude, her interest was focussed on reading, listening to music, all the things one can do on one's own, basically.

Once she came off age and could have stayed in one place from then on, she became more unhappy since now she couldn't blame all the moving around for her lack of a social life. And believe me, if Roxy can't blame somebody else, she isn't really at her best! So she went for a job that enabled her to move every other few months, and she continued being unpleasant, sarcastic, lonely and alledgedly happy. Having become blind to her own horrible attitude and therefore not having any hope left to finally fit in somwhere, she was amazed when she met Jake, the absolute opposite of her. Their different personalities brought out the best in the other, they balanced things out between the two of them, everything seemed fine. However, over time they grew inside as they learned from each other.

Roxana awoke behind her self-built wall, gradually more aware of her mistakes and for the first time giving somebody a chance to get to know the real her - slowly, of course, but still she did it. This was her personal break-through, and things suddenly became clear and certain to her. She chose to stay in one place, trying to adjust herself so she would finally fit in with the others, and trying to open herself. It never was easy, it was a great adventure for her just as much as it was normal to most others. In the end, she was more open-minded, outgoing and socializing happily, she had changed herself, reached the ideal she always though was desirable, but unreachable for her. Hope had come back as had true happiness, she felt safe and certain.

Unfortunately, the growth of both her and Jake, the change one had initiated in the other, made them too alike in the end, they had met somewhere in the middle and now there wasn't any room for individuality left. Things stopped working out, their time together was complete and was destined to meet its limits, to come to an end. Moving again, Roxana figured that her life would always come full circle like that, and the pain this gave her was worse than all the pain she had felt before, so she went back to being sarcastic, lonesome Roxy who wouldn't ever stay in one place, taking only books and CDs with her to keep her company but never the knowledge of having made a friend in the place she would leave behind.

[Dramatic, I know, and overly so xD But I was in the mood for drama ^.^]
